Ease Friday • October 10,1 Frid Routes Continued from Page 1 Mike Caruso, assistant athletic director for promo tions and operations, said construction projects in Bryan-College Station, such as the work on Texas Av enue and George Bush Drive, were the main reason for creating the Go With the Green task force. Lomax said the group wanted to ease traffic flow on Texas Avenue during the construction project. “We realized there were benefits to taking control of special-event traffic,” he said. Elmer Schneider, associate director of University Police Department, said College Station police officers help UPD regulate the flow of pedestrians crossing Wellborn as a part of the program. The cooperative effort allows some UPD officers to perform routine business instead of directing traffic. Schneider said Parking, Traffic and Transportation Services has added to the program by making sure park ing areas are used efficiently. He said PTTS watches park ing areas and reroutes traffic around full parking lots. Lomax said the athletic and PTTS shuttle bus program for games also helps to keep some cars off campus. Caruso said sofar the program has worked well. “I’ve heard nothing but good reports [about Go with the Green].” Sk(Bfch GO WITH THE GREEH. ► EXIT ROUTE STREET CLOSED The Immortal Weather Outlook SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY Scattered T-storms High: 85° Low: 74° Scattered T-storms High: 84° Low: 72° Partly cloudy High: 83° Low: 61 ° ike tal tui 011 d0 " dust lin du st fro ft abc Id of c With atch b rough al skii e radia ■ the sc ll>rns an zards Ever} esens to a w< T Lord i Alpha Phi Sorority October 10, 1872 - October 10, 1997 On sale this week at the MSC Rudder Box Office r *3MP*5*:l? mm m » i 845-1234 or on the net!
