The Texas A&M Tennis Team is
preparing for their first tourna
ment of the year, the UNLV
Invitational. The four teams par
ticipating in the tournament are
UNLV, BYU, Minnesota and Texas
A&M. Kleinecke said it will be
exciting to finally play against
other teams. They have been prac
ticing for a while and it will be
good to show off their hard work.
“It is a great opportunity and it
will be tough,” he said.
Kleinecke said that adjusting to
the loss of some key players and
the addition of new ones is always
a little rough.
“It is tough to take out players
like Nancy Dingwall and Julie
Beahm,” he said.
Dingwall was a three-time All-
Conference selection and Beahm
was a five-time conference cham
pion. Kleinecke said that some
people will need to step up and
take charge. He is also excited
about the addition of Eva Marcial.
He thinks she has a great future.
“She is great for the team on
and off the court,” he said.
Kleinecke is very optimistic
about this season and the play of
Monica Rebolledo and Vanessa
Rooks. He will look to these expe
rienced players for leadership. He
also said that Lisa Dingwall has
come out this year with a great
work ethic and high goals in mind.
He feels she will be a great con
tributor to the team this year.
Rooks, a senior froir
Diego, Ca., has been playirl
nis for nine years and isven
ed about this weekend’s k
meat as well.
