Four awards also were give out
by the Texas A&M Letterman’s Club.
Senior Tracey Anderson, a mem
ber of the Texas A&M men’s basket
ball team and Calvin Collins, a senior
guard from the Texas A&M football
team were recognized as the Letter-
man’s clubs’ two male recipients.
Anderson was the lone senior for
the basketball team this season. He
ranks as one of A&M’s all-time all-
around statistical leaders. Collins
was a four-year starter for the foot
ball team and was recently drafted
by the Adanta Falcons.
Anderson said he was honored
to receive the award.
"It means a lot to be recognized for
anything,” Anderson said. “It’s some
thing my mom’s going to be proud of,
so this will make her happy.”
The women’s awards went to
Texas A&M women’s basketball team
member Lana Tucker and Texas A&M
volleyball team member Page White.
Tucker, a senior captain for the
Lady Ags, ended her career as the
school’s seventh all-time leading
scorer. White was an All-Big 12 se
lection this past season.
Tucker said she was glad to see
student-athletes recognized for
something other than athletics.
“It’s a side people don’t see and its
nice to be recognized for it,” TUcker
said. “People are focused upon suc
cess on the court so when we do
something like this. People do notice
academics and I think that is really a
plus for this university.”
