Stephanie Walker, a Ring Dance volunteer and a
sophomore journalism member, said students not
attending the dance can come help out.
“We collect tickets, serve non-alcoholic drinks and
popcorn among other things,” Walker said.
Anyone interested in helping out with Ring Dance

The dance is open to all students. Dance tickets
for couples or individuals can be purchased at the
MSC Box Office. Ticketsare also available for the Se
nior Banquet, which is held before the dance at the
College Station Hilton.

She said the money goes to two national
grants and local programs on prenatal edu
cation and teenage mentoring.
Spies said the March of Dimes’ mission is
to prevent birth defects. She said they want
to stress to college students the importance
of a healthy lifestyle before students become
pregnant.
“It’s a great connection to A&M,” she said.
“It’s important for the March of Dimes to have
a presence at A&M.”
Spies said the March of Dimes also is able
to influence the lives of the cadets.
