Today ► State Nation Teacher slain, four teens held in killing MIDLAND(AP) — Four Midland teens remained jailed Thursday morning and faced capital murder charges after the stabbing death of a local schoolteacher, whose body was discovered in a caliche pit outside of town. One of the suspects lives next door to Helen R. Johnson, 53, who was stabbed several times at her home during an apparent robbery, police said. The three 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old initially were arrested early Wednesday morning for pos session of alcohol in what turned out to be Johnson's car, police said. Arrested were Frederick Ernest Keck, James Garibay and Fernando Lujan, all 17, and a 16-year-old male. The three adults were being held in lieu of $125,000 bond. Keck was a neighbor of John son’s, and the Midland Reporter- Telegram reported that police con sider him the main suspect. All four have gang ties, police said. The suspects told police where the 53-year-old woman’s fully clothed body was buried, police said. You must be a degree seeking student and have a total of 95 credit hours reflected on the Texas A&M University Student Information Management System. (A passed course, which is repeated and passed, cannot count as additional credit hours.) 2. 30 credit hours must have been completed in residence at Texas A&M University, providing that prior to January 1,1994, you were registered at Texas A&M University and successfully com pleted a fall/spring semester or summer term (I and II or 10 weeks) as a full-time student in good standing (as defined in the University catalog). 60 credit hours must have been completed in residence at Texas A&M University if your first semester at Texas A&M University was January 1994 or thereafter, or if you do not quality under the successful semester requirement.
