The Texas A&M Men’s Tennis
Team defeated Baylor University, 5-
under the lights at the Omar
Imith Tennis Center last night.
The Aggies got off to the early
ead by capturing the elusive dou-
iles point, which has given them
problems in the past.
A&M Head Coach Tim Cass said
joing into singles play, with the
loubles point under their belt, was
ibig advantage.
"Doubles play dictates a lot, es-
jecially in close matches,” Cass
iaid. “Having the doubles point re-
illyhelped us going into singles and
jave us a mental advantage. [Last

:sas far as completeness and every-
iody playing at a decent level.”
With doubles out of the way, it was
p«pen play for junior netter Carlos
fori, as he crushed his opponent, 6-2,
i-3. While the modest Tori said it was

s happy for the whole team.
“Things felt well for me but it was
ihard match and I think I got a litde
nore lucky,” Tori said. “Things
vorked out well for the team tonight
| h * jecause they have worked really
lard and 1 am glad because we are
ired of everybody saying that we
iuckand that we aren’t good enough.

And winning with their hearts

earn witnessed strong and consis-
ent play from all the spots.
Freshman Gonzalo Anderson
subdued his opponent in straight
sets as well (6-1, 6-1) and helped
^Jjeal the win for the Aggies early on.
T just tried to go out there and
lifttay focused,” Anderson said. “I
