He said the article will have a positive effect on A&M’s reputation. “The article seemed to me to be high ly sympathetic,” he said. “From the stand point of the University as a whole, it was really a first-rate article [andj publicity we should be very glad to have.” Carl Baggett, student body president and a senior accounting major, agreed the article is good publicity for the University. “[The article will] maybe let other people know what we’ve known for a long time,” he said. Moore said the council invited Soffen to discuss research in his field. “The GSC Research Week is dedicated to developing strong communication for intellectual development and research,” Moore said. Research Week kicked off at the Forsyth Gallery yesterday with a reception hosted by A&M President Ray Bowen. A din ner followed at Cafe Eccell. The council will host a lecture series through Friday.
