The club owner gave the woman a free ticket “to see
someone who wasn’t Monique,” the comedian said.
Monique lives in Miami, but she is no stranger to
the Lone Star State. Her mother lives in 1 lumble and
her brother is an Aggie.
“Texas is really weird,” she said. “My brother went
to Texas A&M. He said ‘howdy’ all the time when he
visited me in Miami.”
But Monique said she is getting a little tired of
her hometown.
“I used to love it, but now it’s too hip,” she said.
“There are too many beautiful thin people tripping
over themselves on their way to the bathroom to puke
up everything they ate.”
Monique has performed in such places as “that
hotbed of action,” Elk City, Okla., and is appearing
soon in Abilene, “where they have regular Ameri
can hookers.”
Monique said she is excited about performing in
Bryan-College Station.
“My memories of College Station are Me:
