Graduation Continued from Page 1 Josh Golden, CSAB president and a Tarleton State University student, said the board aims to improve communication between student dele gates and the regents and to promote student con cerns. He said the regents’ practice of meeting at different campuses in the System helps achieve those goals. “Rotating the meetings allows more students to attend and give their input,” Golden said. Golden said the board disagrees with Rep. Steve Ogden’s proposal to consolidate tuition and fees into three main categories. He said consolidating fees would lead to confusion rather than clarification. “[Ogden’s idea] inhibits the ability to track spe cific allocations,” Golden said. “We need to con centrate on a market-driven tuition.” He said market-driven tuition would help avoid unjust increases in tuition and fees. In other business, the Board approved phase three of the project to improve Texas A&M athletic facilities. Phase three is a proposal to renovate seating in the north end zone of Kyle Field. Campus Continued from Page 1 Bowen will spend Christmas at his home in Houston with his children and their families. “I had hoped to go to a bowl game,” he said. The absence of students on campus not only lowers the decibel level, but also gives maintenance and repair crews the opportunity to work more freely. Mike Goldwater, assistant director for facilities, maintenance and renova tions, said the empty classrooms and walkways make areas in need of repair easier to access. “It ‘s a good opportunity to get pro jects out of the way,” he said. “It’s less disruptive to the students and faculty.” Goldwater said the larger projects for the winter break will be desk and light replacement and wall and ceiling repair in the Blocker Building, the Kle berg Animal and Food Sciences Center, and the Heep Building.
