She taught physical education for $900 a year in 1936. One of her hobbies is playing the organ for Crestview Methodist Retirement Center on Fridays. Public speaking, Rudder said, is not on her list of hobbies. But her husband encouraged her to face her fear by asking her to speak to the Board of Regents in his absence. She recently spoke to the Class of ’66 before the Kansas State football game. The University dedicated Rudder Hall to Margaret Rudder in 1990. Her husband has been honored in several ways. Among his name sakes are a park in Eden, Texas, a Ranger camp in Florida, the Brown Scholarship Program and Rudder Tower. The old process was inefficient and did not allow easy retrieval of criti cal information. Adaptive Technology Services has developed a Delphi 2.0 32-bit multi-threaded client/server database applica tion to track the testing process. The Test Manager system uses barcodes to identify each test and track its movement through the testing process. SSD has plans to distribute the application to other uni versities with similar needs. Eventually, the system will incorpo rate student disability records, e-mail functionality and Web con nections for on-line queries of tests.
