CBS pulls shows
to save its ratings
NEW YORK (AP) — Almost Per
fect apparently wasn’t.
The comedy was one of two put
on “hiatus” — meaning there’s no
immediate plans to reschedule them
— by CBS after a disastrous opening
night for its Wednesday lineup.
The network also temporarily
shelved the lauded drama EZ Streets,
and plans to show movies for the
rest of the month in the now-vacant
Wednesday night spots.
CBS had pledged patience for
its new programming, but moved
quickly because of the critical No
vember ratings “sweeps” period,
which began Thursday.
Public Morals, billeds
adult sitcom about a polii
partment vice squad, is go-
ter only one airing.
Almost Perfect, starring'
Travis as a writer on a TV
show, was in its second ye:
held the 9 p.m. time slot.
The network hasn’t quit;;
up on EZ Streets, a bleak,
and violent drama revolving
a police detective (Ken Olin).
