The Commandants Trophy was initiated in 1957 to recognize members ofthePla
toon Leaders Class (PLC) who distinguish themselves at Officer Candidates School. Re
cipients of the trophies are those candidates who attain the highest leadership, physiol
and academic averages in their respective increments.
James Redding won the Commandant’s Trophy for finishing number one at the PLC
Combined Course this summer. Redding is the third Aggie to win this award.
The Trophy was presented before the University of North Texas game on September
21st by Major General J.W. Klimp, the Command General of the Marine Corps Recruit
