Aggies seek TCU turnaround □ The team is coming off a disappointing overtime loss to UH. By Stephanie Christopher The Battalion With a lot of time left, the Men’s Aggie Basketball Team is prepared to bounce back and make a run for a good position in the last South west Conference Tournament. After a tough loss to UH in overtime Wednesday night, the Aggies' are focused and deter mined to play the best they can. They will be traveling to Fort Worth to take on the Homed Frogs of TCU tonight. Going into tonight’s game the Aggies’ and the Frogs’hold the same record in SWCplay at 1-4. The Frogs are 9-1 at home this season . Can the Aggies break this win ning streak? According to Head Coach Tony Barone, anything can be done on any given night. “In order for us to win this game, we must be able to con tain Damion Walker, play de fense, and make every play count,” Barone said. Barone said his goal this year is to improve every game and shoot for the SWC tournament. If the Aggies can get easy bas kets it will be with the help of point guard Kyle Kessel. Kessel is ranked nationally among assist leaders and helps keep the Aggies focused. “One thing that wq must do against TCU is handle their press,” Kessel said. “Defense could be a key factor in this game, and we must come prepared." Kessel agreed that homecourt advantage is a factor in a game. “Any team at home has an ad vantage,” Kessel said, “ Tradition means a lot to me and it feels good when we play at home.” Kessel said that Barone has lead the team in the right direc tion after their slow start in the SWC season. “Coach Barone has done a great job” Kessel said. “He has the foundation and now it is our turn to step up and make something happen.” Barone believes that tonight’s game will be a good matchup. He said that overall the two teams size up well against one another. “I think that our guys will match up good with TCU, but we try not too think to much about the other teams” Barone said.” We try to stay focused on taking care of ourselves and our goals.” "I think that our guys will match up good with TCU, but we try not to think too much about the other teams." — Tony Barone AdrM Head Basketball Coach RODGERS & HAMMER STEIN'S < * A ☆ ^GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING A Champagne Toast to Rodgers & Hammerstem’s 50fh Anniversary TIE SOUND OF MUSIC • OKLAHOMA! • CAROUSEL • CINDERELLA SOUTH PACIFIC • FLOWER DRUM SONG • THE KING AND I Tuesday, February 6 8:00 p.m. Rudder Auditorium This is some enchanted evening. ” —Gannett Newspapers Tickets arc on sale at the MSC Box Office-TAMU, or charge hy phone at 845-1234.
