The New York Knicks’ Ewing was selected for the 10th time. It was the eighth time for both Utah Jazz forward Mal one and point guard Stockton. Robinson, of the San Antonio Spurs, was chosen for the sev enth time. Joining Ewing as reserves on the East team for the 46th edition of the game — to be played Feb. 11 at San Antonio — will be Cleveland’s Terrell Brandon and Indiana’s Reg gie Miller at guard, Miami’s Alonzo Mourning at center, and Milwaukee’s Vin Baker, Charlotte’s Glen Rice and Milwaukee’s Juwan Howard at forward. Robinson, Malone and Stockton will be joined as West reserves by Seattle’s Gary Pay- ton and Sacramento’s Mitch Richmond at guard. The cen ters chosen was Denver’s Dikembe Mutombo. San Antonio’s Sean Elliott, a hometown favorite, was also chosen at forward. College Station 260 4360 EQUAL HOUSING LENDER LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dar ryl Strawberry pleaded innocent on Tuesday to charges that he ignored a court’s order to make support payments for his two children. Strawberry, who played for the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers before becom ing a free agent last fall, is charged with one count of willful failure to provide child support and two counts of failure to obey a court order. Strawberry did not appear at the Superior Court hearing. His lawyer, Milton Grimes, entered the plea on his behalf. A March 6 trial date was set. If convicted. Strawberry could serve one year in county jail. Strawberry’s former wife, Lisa Strawberry, contends that he owes more than $370,000 in back payments. Strawberry, who once signed a $20.25 million, five-year con tract with the Dodgers, has bat tled alcohol and cocaine abuse. He also served time in home confinement last year for tax evasion for unreported earn ings from baseball card shows. In 1995, Strawberry earned $750,000 playing for the Yan kees, who failed to pick up a $1.8 million option on his con tract at the end of the season. The Strawberrys divorced in 1993. Strawberry has admitted to hitting her and was arrested several years ago for threaten ing her with a gun. They have two children, Darryl, Jr., 10; and Diamond Nicole, 7.
