PA 110 is now open for “Commuter” and “Park-N-Ride” permits. There are approximately 280 parking spaces in the lot which is located on Agronomy Road next to Procurement and Materials Services Building. This lot was co-designed to be used as a playing area for the TAMU Inline Hockey Club. PTTS will be working with club members to layout a playing rink on the lot to be used at night after parkers vacate the area. Also, the temporaiy gravel lot on the comer of the Special Events site has been relocated closer to the classroom buildings. This lot is directly behind the west campus utility building, just off Joe Routt Boulevard and Olsen Road. Other parking news this semester includes a section of con struction laydown occupying PA 69 and PA 91, behind Kyle Field. These lots will be closed for most of the spring semester but should be open for summer parking. Construction has also enclosed a section of PA 11 while water chillers are being repaired. This project is expected to continue through 1996. The construction of the central campus library parking garage is still slated to begin this semester. Specific details will be announced closer to the deadline for the beginning of the pro ject. For customer convenience, PTTS cashiers will be at Rudder Tower for issuing parking permits and bus passes to students, Jan. 16-18, from 7:30 a.m. imtil 5:30 p.m. Please call 862- PARK to speak with a parking counselor for details. Please he aware that street parking on the east curb of Olsen Boulevard has been eliminated as a safety precaution for shuttle buses and increased vehicular traffic. Also, the City of College Station has passed an ordinance that prohibits bicycling, skateboarding, skating, walking and jogging on the concrete barrier on George Bush Drive. k- J Page 8 • The Battalion Toons Tuesday • January 16,1996 Sk®feh By Quatro Peeps By Michael I So fA* So &O0b.
