REC SPORTS Intramurals Fitness • Sport Clubs • Outdoor Adventures • Aquatics N ow is the time to burn off those extra pounds from winter break and begin sculpting your body for the warmer season. At the H;4Rec! Don't be caught hiding under a T-shirt at the beach this spring break or summer! Rec Sports offers 105 classes to choose from during the week and weekend. We have one free class for Rec Members everyday. If you want more, we have an Unlimited Fitness Pass and three different types of numbered Punch Passes which make all of our classes available to you. The class consists of a sequence of aerobic routines choreographed to a variety of popular tunes. Come join the six Jazzereise classes offered each week for the Spring Semester. After January 18, only $50 for unlimited classes or purchase punch passes for $20 or $10. Register at the Rec Center Member Services Desk. The programs and services of Rec Sports are open to Texas A&M students, faculty, staff and their spouses and dependents (age 18-25). Students taking 6+hours are automatically Rec Members when they register and pay their registration and student services fees. Students taking less than 6 hours may become Rec Members if they choose to pay the associated fees. Students use their Texas A&M I.D. cards to access Rec Sports' facilities. TAMU Outdoors TAMU Outdoors is Rec Sports' outdoor program which includes outdoor adventure trips and clinics, equipment rental, resource information and basic skill development. We provide outdoor experiences for the Texas A&M and the Bryan/College Station communities. TAMU Outdoors is located on the back side of the Student Recreation Center. Individuals are instructed in the proper rules and techniques. It's on-the-job training. Officials learn to work with their peers and work as a team. It's a great resume builder! We'll provide all the training you'll need to become an Intramural Sports Official. Hours are flixible and you get paid, too. Sport Clubs If you're interested in applying, come to the Orientation Meeting and find out more! Sport Clubs offer skill enhancement and competition in over 30 different sports. Any student may join a club, regardless of his/ her ability, provided the individual has an interest in developing the athletic skills necessary to participate. Students can represent Texas A&M at local, regional and national competitions. Faculty and staff of Texas A&M with skills in related sports may contact the Sport Clubs officers to discuss coaching needs.
