recent success is something
Sh rives current Aggie players to
ain the upper hand over their
rivals. A&M Outside Line-
Keith Mitchell testified to this.
“Definitely, without any question,
we look at the Texas game as the big
one, our most important game of the
year,” Mitchell said. “Coach Slocum
has one loss against them, and nobody
wants to be a part of the team that’s
around when he gets his second.
“I think that’s why we’ve been able
to beat them for a while now — every
class of players wants to brag that they
never lost to Texas.”
In the final season of the SWC,
Crow thinks it is fitting that the
league’s two most successful schools
will battle for the conference’s last
championship.
“It’s going to be another great game
between two teams that have a history
of playing great games,” Crow said.
“Big games have been something that
has made the Texas-Texas A&M rivalry
as fierce as it is.
“That’s why the rivalry ranks up
there and maybe surpasses others like
Auburn-Alabama, Florida-Florida
State and big rivalries like that."
