The Texas A&M Women's
Volleyball Team has already
received a bid to the NCAA
tournament, but there is still
plenty at stake this weekend
at the Southwest Conference
Tournament.
Head Coach Laurie Corbel!i
said even though the team has
a bid to the NCAA tournament,
it still has a lot to play for.
“We’re ranked No. 17 in the
USA Today Poll, and they
are going to take the top 16
teams in the nation and give
them a first round bye, which
then would mean that they
would probably host the sec
ond round. We would love to
do that.
“If we beat Texas, or whoev
er we end up playing, and if
the other teams who are
ranked above us lose out, or
lose some critical matches or
lose against an unranked
team, then who knows.”
The SWC Volleyball Tour
nament starts this weekend at
the University of Houston’s
Hofheinz Pavilion. TexasASIll
is the No. 2 seed in the tor

“We’ll have to get by Tens

cult, Price said.
“It’s hard to sit on the side
lines all the time,” Price said.
“It’s hard because you know
you could do something if you
got in there. The coaches have
told me to keep playing and
practicing hard.”
Instead of complaining,
Price is rechanneling his en
ergy into his special teams
playing ability.
“I want to get in there and
make a play,” Price said. “I
want to put a big licki
somebody. I haven’t done
yet by myself, but I’ve shar
a couple.”
Price said he saw son
thing in the Rice game th
he would like to do in ape'
formation: Catch a pass. Tl
Owls’ gunner Jeff Venghai
catight a 37-yard pass for
touchdown in the Aggies’1
10 win.
“I doubt it will ever happf
but I’m hopeful,” Price, wi
was timed in the 40-yard das
at 4.23 seconds in high schoe
said. “I don’t know. Mayi
one day I’ll get the opportue
ty to make a catch”
