I find it ironic that in the same
issue that homosexual tolerance
is encouraged, there would be a
homophobic ad sponsored by sev
eral “Christian” organizations.
As a former president of one
of the organizations, I was em
barrassed by their attempts to
interrupt Coming Out Week.
The timing of the ad showed
disrespect towards gays, les
bians, bisexuals, their friends
and families.
These organizations should
show the same consideration
they seek during Resurrection
Week in the spring.
perverse and disgusting.
Coming Out Week is but an
other attempt by homosexuals to
make their radical beliefs and be
haviors acceptable to those who
know otherwise.
It is another example of the
decline of values and morality
in America today. This im
morality should not be forced
upon the student body of Texas
A&M University.

• I feel ashamed that mem
bers of our fine University advo
cate such immoral and unnatur
al behavior as homosexuality.
To justify such a claim, one
must look at the basic facts in
volved: The pu' ose of any sexu
ally-based relationship is the
creation of offspring.
That is nature, and indis
putable from the lowest insect to
the highest reasoning creature
on earth — the human.
Therefore any type of sexu
ally-based or romantic rela
tionship that is not based
purely on procreation is indis
putably unnatural.
As for Jeff Anderson’s com
ments on homophobia, society’s
disagreement with a non-hetero
sexual orientation is not becauso
of fear or misunderstanding.
Such behavior is contradictory
to the laws of nature, and there
fore is generally viewed as im
moral behavior. To many, it is
* The articles and flyers ad
vertising homosexuality and
Coming Out Week are highly
offensive.
The lack of open-mindedness
to ways of “coming out” other
than shoving ideologies down
everyone else’s throats is nar
row-minded.
Lack of respect for others’
views, beliefs and opinions,
religiously based or not, is in
sensitive.
I represent a small minority
of people who believe that we
are all responsible for our own
beliefs and actions, and should
be open-mindedly tolerant to
ward others having their own
different beliefs.
If individuals and groups
want to observe Coming Out
Week and the acceptance of ho
mosexuality, go ahead, that
shouldn’t bother anybody.
However, don’t try to force
people of differing beliefs or
opinions to observe it in a rash
attempt to justify your own ac
tions and beliefs.
If you’re going say that it’s
OK to be a homosexual, don’t
criticize others as “narrow
minded” for voicing their belief
that it’s OK to not want to be a
homosexual or to overcome the

derson for being a man that is
open and honest about his true
self. That is definitely an

However, I would likete
point out one problem in
article. Anderson made the
statement that “ ... those win
are gay can no more change
their sexual orientation that
they could change the color of
their skin.”
This is not true.
Never has it been proven,
medically or genetically, that
one is horn homosexual. This is
a choice one makes at some
stage in their lives.
I have seen too many lives
changed and brought out of tie
homosexual lifestyle to believe
otherwise. The statement lie-
made is one that is heard but k fa ! I
no evidence to back it up.
If being gay is something
you are born with and have no
choice in the matter, then wk
are there clinics nationwide
that help homosexuals change
their sexual orientation?
How can people make He
change from homosexual to htl |pr°v
erosexual if this is somethingipy
they are bom with?
I am not in any way attack

That love is found in ourSav
