AGGIE OWNED AND OPERATED *SINCE 1926
|he big game is finally here.
Tie game that will settle
the question — once and
for all — that has been plaguing
sports fans for some time now
— the question of who really is
the best.
Tommorow on television,
we’ll finally get to witness the
showdown, well, for a small fee
of $19.95, that is. it’s on pay-
per-view, and it’s not boxing. It’s
basketball.
It all started after the
NBA Finals ...
We’ve seen the newspaper
ad; we’ve seen the commercials
and now we’ll get to see Ha
keem “The Dream” Olajuwon
and'Shaquille O’Neal finally go
head-to-head, one-on-one, to set
tle once and for all who the bet
ter player is.
Live from Trump’s Taj Majal
in Las Vegas, the Houston
Rocket’s own Hakeem will take
on Orlando’s Shaq.
Not only will these two go
head-to-head, but Kenny Ander
son of the New Jersey Jets and
Nick Van Exel of the Los Ange
les Lakers will also face off.
In what will be the battle of
the rookies, Joe Smith, from the
Golden State Warriors, will take
on Kevin Garnett of the Min
nesota Timberwolves.
The players agreed to these
face-offs in the midst of the
NBA labor strike, and now that
the strike is over, there is noth
ing to be done to stop them.
Some are looking at these
games as friendly competition.
What’s the harm? It’s simply
a game of one-on-one ball in
volving two rivals from op
teams.
Others see it as a riskya
vertising ploy that couldje:
prodize the professional i
of the players. What wouldis
come of Smith and Garnett!
one of them happened to:
