Prince’s animated
story to be distributed
by Walt Disney Co.
LONDON (AP) — An animated film of a
children’s story by Prince Charles will be dis
tributed on video by the Walt Disney Co., the
Sunday Times reported.
“The Legend of.
Lochnagar,” a version of a
story Charles wrote in
1970 to entertain his
brothers, was animated
by a Welsh studio and
broadcast on British tele
vision in 1993.
The story, with a
message about the envi
ronment and social re
sponsibility, is about an
old man who lives in a
and disrupts the

Twenty-six years after actor-director
John Astin’s “Prelude” was nominated in
the short film category, his son’s “Kanga
roo Court” is up for an Oscar on Monday
in the same category.
John Astin, known best for starring as
Gomez in TV’s “The Addams Family,” lost in
1969. His wife and Sean’s mother, Patty
Duke, took home the trophy as best support
ing actress for 1962’s “The Miracle Worker.”
“Kangaroo Court” tells the story of a
police officer being tried for murder by an
inner-city gang. The gang members serve
as judge and jury; Gregory Hines plays
the policeman’s attorney.
“Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve wanted
to make movies,” Sean Astin said. To qualify
for the short film category, the 24-year-old di
rector was advised he’d have to cut a half-
hoivr from his movie. He took the advice from
the producer, Christine Astin, his wife.'
