If convicted, Hellriegel faces up
to a year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
Hellriegel has worked for
Texas A&M since 1975. He has
served as interim dean of the
College of Business and served
as chair of the search committee
that selected A&M’s president
Dr. Ray Bowen.
Two Texas A&M administra
tors, A&M Athletic Director Wally
Groff and Associate Athletic Di
rector Penny King, each were
placed on three months probation
and ordered to pay a $250 fine af
ter pleading no contest in October
to the same charge.
Groff and King entered the
pleas as part of an agreement
reached with Turner.
Both were given deferred adju
dication, a form of probation tk
means no conviction will appear
on their record if the three-moii
term is successfully completed.
All of the charges and indict
ments were the result of anon-
going investigation by tht
Texas Rangers and the FBI ink

at A&M.
