The men’s championship was won by Baylor, while Rice took the women's title. Matt Priest was the top finisher for A&M on either side, finishing in fourth place with a time of 25:29.9 in the five mile run. Shannon Etchberger was the top Lady Aggie finisher, with a sixth place finish in the five kilometer run, with a time of 19:17.6. “The men ran about as well as possible, “ head coach Greg Hinze said. The men’s and women's swimming and diving teams wanned up for the Southwest Conference season last Friday, competing in lie SWC Relays in Dallas. In the swimming part oftlie competition, the men’s and womens team both finished fourth outoftle four teams competing (Southern Methodist, Texas and Texas Christian being the other three). The diving team fared betterta their mates however, as the women placed third out of the six schools, and the men finished third out of five schools. The Aggies finished first in two events, both victories by the women's swimming team. The women's relay teams won bolhthe 200 meter fly relay and the300 meter breaststroke relay. A&M tae kwon do team places at nationals The Texas A&M tae kwon do team traveled Aames for the Collegiate nationals competition, and came away with two first-place finishers in the competition, Aaron Gerdes and Dionne Trevino, who finished first in two different events.
