ference match.
The Lady Aggies are complet
ing a tough schedule that includ
ed three straight losses against
nationally-ranked teams before
the win Wednesday night.
Head coach Laurie Corbelli
said the team is starting to real
ize they can play at a very high
volleyball level.
“We have played some top lev
el teams over the last week, and
I have been real pleased how the
team has prepared and executed
against those teams,” Corbelli
said. “It is nice that I don’t have
to convince them (to play at a
high level), because they have ex
perienced it and seen that they
can do it.
“Now we just need to steady it
out and demand from ourselves
every rally. If we achieve that,
we will achieve our goal of ad
vancing to the playoffs.”
The Lady Mavericks (6-12
overall record) have won six out
of their last 10 matches. The
team is led by Mandy Martz and
Heather Hoy. Martz has accu
mulated 178 kills and 134 digs

UTA owns a 25-21 series ad
vantage against Texas A&M
since 1976, although the Lady
Aggies have won the last four
meetings. Last season A&M
defeated UTA 15-2, 17-15, 15-7
in College Station. UTA has
not beaten the Lady Aggies
since 1989.
Corbelli said the match
against UTA should be a good
test for the Lady Aggies.
“UTA has a new staff and a
new system, and we will be play
ing on their home court, “ Corbel-
li said. “I hope we get into a
rhythm early and are able to run
our offense.
“If we get started early, we
will be hard to stop. That is
what we will be striving for.”
After tonight’s game, the Lady
Aggies travel to Baylor for a
SWC showdown with the Lady
Bears Saturday night at 7:30.
The Baylor match will represent
A&M’s fourth match in six days.

RECYCLING: If your building currently is being served by TAMU Recycling,
just place your old phone books in a separate container (plastic sack, cardboard
box, etc.), and place it vyith the rest of your recyclables. You may want to dis
cuss this with your custodial staff or whomever takes care of recycling for your
building. Also, a two-day, on-campus drive for old phone books is scheduled
Nov. 17 & 18. Watch for more information about this event.
