Donald B. Powell, director of Business Services for Texas A&M and president of the Texas Aggie Band Association, co-wrote the book with wife Mary Jo, the associate direc tor of University Relations, to commemorate the band’s 100th anniversary. “This is the first book ever written solely about the Aggie Band,” Powell said. Powell also wanted to record the band’s history before the people who were part of the history were gone. Any book written lat er might be less accurate without the people he and Mary Jo interviewed, he said. The Powells started their research two years ago by interviewing dozens of former band members, relatives of members, and former and current directors. After looking through almost 900 pho tographs, all donated, they selected 121 for »ci Schwer ■dure majo ■ Tattoo C< it the sign His tattoo, Ifway thro t|oesn’t hun ” Schwerti ertner ha |e wanted, ize and he to spend, to having ork on his [y be remo 1 ir he made shaved, the book, Mary Jo Powell said. “We picked photos that would represent all the eras and the aspects of life in the Ag gie Band,” she said,"which was almost as hard as compiling the list of band members since 1894, which AT WOLF PEN CREEK AMPHITHEATER RIGHT AFTER THE GAME $ 8 00 IN ADVANCE $ 10 00 DAY OF CONCERT TICKETS AVAILABLE AT ROTHER'S BOOKSTORE & MAROONED RECORDS FOOD AVAILABLE BY FAJITA RITAS PORTION OF PROCEEDS BENEFIT UNITED WAY DICKSON PRODUCTIONS & POPULAR TALENT PRESENT Tickets Available Court's Western Wear Pother’s Bookstore Tickets By Phone 1-800-333-7188 Phone orders subject to convenience charge n ■ W in Advance s 12 Day of Concert ROPED OFF DANCE FLOOR!
