Chris Morris made two free
throws with 1.5 seconds left in
overtime Wednesday night, keep
ing New Jersey alive in the play
offs with a 93-92 victory over
New York.
The Knicks still lead 2-1, with
Game 4 at the Meadowlands on
Friday night. Morris’ free throws
came after the Knicks rallied from
a 1 6-point deficit in the second
half.
John Starks’ 3-pointer gave
New York a 90-89 lead with 1:04
left in overtime, but reserve for
ward Armon Gilliam gave the
lead back to the Nets with a dunk
at the 43-second mark. Patrick
Ewing’s baseline jumper once
again gave the Knicks a one-point
lead, but Charles Oakley couldn’t
stop Morris’ baseline drive, forc
ing him to foul.
Derrick Coleman finished with
25 points and 17 rebounds for
the Nets.
Ewing led the Knicks with 27
points and 14 rebounds.
