Despite losing their first
match on March 26 to the
fourth-ranked University of
Texas squad, the Texas A&M
men’s tennis team became the
22nd-ranked team in the coun
try, and will try to improve that
ranking this weekend.
Friday, the Aggies will host
Florida State, with whom A&M
eluding a stellar 13-3 this spring
As big a jump as the pair hi
already made, they are expected
to move up even higher because
of their upset of UT s Chad Chr;
and Trey Phillips, the second-
ranked doubles pair in the na
tion.
Weaver, the 1993 SWC Player
of the Year, continues to leadthi
Aggies with consistent bri!
liance.

The duo is 19-8 this season, in-
Head tennis coach David Keni I
said that while his top player is I
the straw that stirs the Aggie]
drink, all of the players have!
done their parts this season.
“Everything starts with Marl I
Weaver at the top of the line-up. 1
but we’ve gotten good play from 1
everyone,” Kent said. This is:
very unselfish team, and they do I
whatever it takes to win This
