Aggies begin spring football By Drew Diener The Battalion U nfamiliar faces were plentiful at Kyle Field on Thursday dur ing the first Spring football practice as seven new coaches worked with the Aggies. Among the new crop of coaches making their A&M debut were offen sive coordinator Steve Ensminger and defensive coordinator Tommy Tu- berville. Ensminger replaced Bob Toledo, New coaches, new faces fill training camp with intensity, expectations now with UCLA, on Jan. 18 and Tu- berville filled the spot vacated by Bob Davie, now with Notre Dame, one day earlier. Ensminger, who will also coach the quarterbacks, came to A&M from the University of Georgia where he was offensive coordinator for three sea sons. While at Georgia, Esminger coached and helped develop standout quarter back Eric Zeier, a senior next season. Zeier currently holds 6 1 school and 1 1 Southeastern Conference passing records. First of all, the team will at tempt to extend its perfect 14-0 start to the season, which has moved the team to 24th in the na tion. Second, the Aggies will attempt to get their conference schedule off to a good start at home, before they travel to Austin tomorrow for a match against the sixth-ranked Texas Longnorns.
