The Aggies, who improved their record to 16-9, fell behind the 49ers 2-0 after LBSU's Nicole Ochoa hit a solo homer in the fourth. A&M came back in the top of the sixth when Mya Truelove hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to center, and Barbi Tuck hit a two-run double to give the Ag gies the lead they would not re linquish. "This was a big win," Brock said. "I almost feel like we won the World Series, it's been so long since we won our own tournament." Kim Gonzalez threw her third complete game of the day improving her record to 12-4. Gonzalez, who led the NCAA with 33 wins last year, threw 37.2 innings in the tour nament allowing only three earned runs. "I can't say enough about Kim Gonzalez," Brock said. "She pitched three games in a row and showed the type of player she is. That gave us a lot of confidence." A&M's bench looks on as the Aggies lose to Texas Tech on Saturday, 89-80. nr 1 i ■ 1 i Texas Tech By Jose de Jesus Ortiz The Battalion Texas Tech's Jason Sasser had 30 points,14 rebounds and played the entire game as the Red Raiders downed the Ag gies, 89-80, and moved to a second place tie in the Southwest Conference with the Ag gies on Saturday. The Aggies finished the first half with a 40-39 lead, largely because of the three-point shooting of seniors Brett Murry and Chuck Henderson. Henderson scored all 12 of his points in the first half after making all four of his stuffs wilting Aggies three-point attempts. Murry made two of three attempts from behind the three point line and finished with 13 points in the first half. But Henderson went 0-3 from behind the three-point line in the second half. Murry also had a slow second half, scoring only four points. With the Aggies leading, 44-43, with 17 minutes remaining in the game. Tech went on a 12-point run that the Aggies did not re cover from. Sasser led the rally with seven points and three rebounds. "Sasser was a very active player," Murry said. "He was always moving and getting those rebounds." Senior point guard David Edwards, who scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half, said Sasser's and Tech's rebounds were the main keys to the Red Raiders's victory. "We had to stop Sasser from rebound ing," Edwards said. "But they all rebound ed well, and (to win) we had to keep them off the boards." The game was billed as Senior Day for the Aggies, and Edwards said it would have been nice if the seniors could have finished their careers at A&M with a winning record.
