Last year the situation came up where we played three games in the month of May prior to regionals, which was unbelievable. We played all year to make it to the regionals and then we get it into May. We've got finals and the SWC tournament, which was three games for us, and then we don't play again until May 27. That was a big- time problem for us. You never know if your team is going to be ready. You just haven't played enough. I picked up the Pepperdine one. Andy Lopez wanted to play, and that was the best time we could get in." People have said the Southwest Conference is one of the best, if not the best, baseball conference the country. How do you feel about that distinction? AI "When you can win at an 80 percent level against outside opponents you have to be seen as a good conference.
