It was small consolation for
Buffalo, beaten again in the
biggest game of the year.
The Bills lost to the New
York Giants in 1991 and to the
Washington Redskins in 1992.
Still, the Bills point with
pride to their four straight
trips to the Super Bowl, some
thing no other team has man
aged.
"Nobody expected us to be
here," wide receiver Andre

somebody else in the AFC to

The Cowboys feel good

"I think going to the Super

Charles Haley said. "Confi

But there will be a certain
amount of caution. The Cow

On the other hand, the Bills
want to avoid one more dis
tinction that would truly set
them apart.
No team in professional
sports has ever lost four con
secutive championships.
Coach Marv Levy said it
doesn't matter how the Bills
prepare for another shot at the
NFL title.
"When we show up at the

thing different," he said.

Nash said Troy Johnson and
Matt Michaels, senior freestyle
and breaststroke swimmers, are
keys in the sprints.
Nash added that Robert Flem
ing and Tamayo, both juniors
shine in the freestyle events. Rut
ledge and Kevin May, a junior,
should be watched in the dis
tance events, he said.
Scott DeWolf, a sophomore
transfer from Michigan State
University, has done a nice job
on the butterfly and the most
pleasant surprise has been from
Robb Pantano, a freshman, in the
backstroke, Nash said.
John Hudspeth qualified for
the NCAA championships in the
backstroke and individual med
ley and plans to return this year.
"My goal is to swim at the
NCAA's and to swim fast at the
SWC championships," Hudspeth
said. "They are very obtainable."
Hudspeth said the team's fo
cus is on the SWC and NCAA
Championships.
' "Texas is ranked second in the
country," Hudspeth said. "They
are very fast and very deep.
SMU lost seven All-Americans.
They have good record and good
swimmers.
"We are as close to them as
we have ever been," he contin
ued. "It (SWC Championships)
will be a good meet.
"Everybody seems to be on
the right track. When you swim
well as your training it's just a
bonus. It comes down to the end
of the season to shine at the
NCAA's."
Hudspeth explained it was a
team effort going into the SWC
meet.
"We contain our energy and
wait to the meet," he said. "Each
one feeds off the other. It's more
of a momentum thing. When
someone does well, everyone
feeds off of it.
"We've been working ex
tremely hard. Better than the
past few years. It reflects a lot
better at the end of the season.
I'm expecting a lot from our team
this year."
