STEPHENVILLE - After her
"squeals on wheels” experience,
Dana Allgood isn't eager to drive
again.
And she surely won't until
someone captures the snake that
slithered out of her 1988 Thunder-
bird's dashboard and into her lap
while she was driving.
"I am only 27, but I almost had
a heart attack/' she said Wednes
day, one week after the startling
meeting.
"I felt something on my leg and
thought it was a fly. I reached
down to swat it. I saw something
that looked like a rope. When I re
alized it was a snake, I realized I
would have to get that car
stopped,” the nutrition teacher at
Stephenville High School said.
That wasn't easy, because her 4-
year-old daughter, Alexa, was
with her and when they saw the
snake, both went ballistic.
It's not easy to stop a vehicle
when you've climbed into the seat
and neither leg is any longer any
where near the brake pedal, she
said.
"My daughter was screaming, I
was screaming, and I finally got
the car stopped by putting it into a
lower gear and letting it coast to a
stop," she said.
Allgood said she never got a
close look at the snake, but her
daughter said it was white, yellow,
green and brown.
Once her car stopped, two men
came by and offered assistance.
One drove her and her daughter
home, and the other drove her car.

Pavarotti's voice cracks; crowd boos
The Associated Press
NEW YORK — Luciano Pavarotti admits he deserved the boos that
rained down from the balcony when he failed to hit a high note and his
voice cracked during a performance in Italy.
"They give all their love to the opera,” Pavarotti said in an inter
view being broadcast Sunday night on CBS-TV's ”60 Minutes.”
"I think (they) have the rights to applaud or boo and if you want to
know my opinion, they are right.”

Are\bu An
Explorer?
500 years ago, doing business globally was a simple thing.
All you had to do was navigate uncharted waters, watch
out for sea dragons and hope to not sail off the end of
the earth.
Today it’s a bit more complicated. If you know what you
want but aren’t sure how to get there why
not let Sprint chart a career for you.
As part of a Fortune 200 company
with sales over $8 billion, we’ve
navigated our way to the
edge of today’s Information
Services world. Why don’t
you come on over and
explore what Sprint
has to offer. We’ll
be interviewing
on campus
October 8.
