VALUABLE COUPON Page 8 The Battalion Wednesday, September 22, l go Crime Stoppers On Sept. 5,1993, between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.in., a black, male was walking in the 1100 block of Holik in College Station when three to four white males jumped and started beating him in the face and chest with their fists, kicking him in the stomach and making racial comments to the victim. The victim could not give a description of the attackers but said the attackers drove off in a new er model, CMC truck, sky blue in color. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated for bruises and abrasions to the face. and an orbital fracture. This week the College Station Police Deparl ment and Brazos County Crime Stoppers need your help to identify the persons responsiblefoi this aggravated assault "hate crime." Crime Stoppers will pay youupto $1,000 in cash. m Police Beat The following incidents were report ed to University Police Department between Sept. 9-15. Harassment Milner Hall - Someone is calling a number in the building at a rate of 15 calls per hour. When the telephone is answered, no one responds. Possession of a Controlled Substance/ Resisting Arrest Houston Street - Following a traffic stop, the operator of the vehicle was observed discarding a plastic bag that was found to contain 13 marijuana cigarettes. When the officer attempt ed to arrest suspect, he resisted and fled from custody on foot. A pursuit ensued, resulting in his capture and retrieval of the contraband. Burglary of a Building Centeq Building - During the past six months, a quantity of soft drinks val ued at $200 has been stolen from a storeroom in the building. Driving While Intoxicateif/ Public Intoxication South College Avenue - An intoxicat ed motorist and passenger were ar rested and incarcerated. Minor in Possession of Alcoholic Beverage Various campus locations - 13 cita tions issued. Criminal Mischief Courtyard between Law and Puryear Hall - A couch was destroyed by fire between the two dorms. Southside Parking Garage - A sharp instrument was used to scratch the paint on the hood of the victim's 1988 Dodge Ram. Parking Area 3 - The left rear tire of the victim's vehicle was deflated and the gas cap removed and left on the ground. Misdemeanor Theft Front Street - An unidentified subject who was given permission to test dri ve a 1979 Cadillac that was being of fered for sale has not returned the ve hicle. DeWare Field House - The victim's maroon leather wallet containing $45 in cash and other assorted property were stolen from outside racquetball court #15. The victim was so upset by the theft he broke the glass window with his fist. The victim was treated at the Beutel Health Center for the in juries he received when he struck the glass. Parking Area 11 - The front license plate was stolen from the front bumper of the victim's vehicle. Various Campus Locations - Nine bi cycles were stolen. Disorderly Conduct Parking Area 25 - A subject observed exposing his genitals in public was is sued a citation. Parking Area 61 - A citation was is sued to a subject who exposed his genitals. Kyle Field - A citation was issued to an individual who was involved ini physical altercation with another. Places Weapons Prohibited Joe Routt Blvd. - A traffic stop led to the observation of a dagger on an ice chest between two occupants in the vehicle. Three additional daggers and a metal pipe with a rubber grip were found. The subjects were arrested, Fire Biochemistry Building - College Sta tion Fire Department was called to in vestigate a report of smoke on the penthouse level of the building. The main transformer and its wiring had burned. Making Alcoholic Beverage Available to a Minor Texas A&M University Research Park - One citation issued. Burglary of a Vehicle Parking Area 9 - A Passport radar de tector, Sony Walkman and two com pact discs were stolen from the vic tim's vehicle.
