"We might change our name," Nansh said. "Another club just started for free-style and we asked them if they wanted to make their own division with us. They wanted their own club, though." The inline skate nine-member competition team recently re turned to A&M from a tourna ment in Houston with a first- place finish. There were six teams in the division in which the club competed. "The team from Sam Houston State was probably the toughest team we faced," Nansh said. Marc Wills, a member of the competition team, said, "I was im pressed with the win. We im proved a lot over our last tourna ment in Dallas. In Dallas, though, we only had six players instead of nine, so we couldn't get any line changes." Nansh was also pleased with the victory. "Hopefully by win ning some tournaments we will get some sponsorship," Nansh said. One sponsor has already agreed to support the team. B C S Bicycle has agreed to give the club a percentage of its sales of skating equipment. At the moment, the competi tion team is practicing for a na tional tournament to be held in Colorado on Sept. 18. The team will be competing in the Recre ational Division at the tourna ment. The team has stayed relatively injury free, barring the occasional scrapes that come from falls. Checking is not allowed during competitions. Aside from the lack of check ing, the only other difference be tween roller hockey and ice hock ey is the length of the game. "In Houston we only played with two 12 and a half minute halves with a five minute break between," Nansh said. "I would like to play with at least three 12 and a half minute periods."
