Police Beat
The following incidents were reported to the University
Police Department between April 2 and April 15.
Assault
taken as a prank by three acquaintances.
•Heldenfels Hall — An indicator light panel and an overhead
projector mirror was stolen. In addition, ketchup was
smeared on a chalkboard and wall.
•Coke Street — A bicyclist's verbal exchange with a motorist
ended with the vehicle operator knocking the victim to the
ground with his car. The cyclist complained of a twisted back
and a sprained wrist.
•Keathley Hall — A subject forced her way in the residence
hall room and grabbed the victim by the throat. The assailant
was identified as the estranged wife of the victim's boyfriend.
The subject also slapped her ex-husband, who was present in
the room. Both victim's expressed their desire to press
charges. A criminal trespass warning was issued to the as
sailant.
•Parking Area 9 — A security officer found a semi-conscious
subject lying on the ground on the south side of Fowler Hall.
The subject had been struck on the left side of the head. The
victim advised the investigating officer he may have been hit
because he took another person's parking space. The victim
was transported to a local hospital by Texas A&M EMS per
sonnel for treatment. The victim informed the investigating
officer that he did not want to file criminal charges.
•Brayton Firefighting School — The victim was touched in an
inappropriate manner by an acquaintance.
Felony Theft
•Parking Area 96 — The victim's ox winch was unbolted
from the frame of his jeep.
•Texas A&M University Riverside Campus — A black golf
bag containing a set of custom made Weser golf clubs, a pair
of Nike golf shoes and a Volcom golf umbrella was stolen
from a table in the large hangers in the Riverside campus.
Misdemeanor Theft
•Entomology Research Laboratory — Someone has billed
several unauthorized long distance telephone calls to a tele
phone located in the building.
•Zachry Engineering Center — The individual who was re
sponsible for the resale of two stolen textbooks has been iden
tified.
•Engineering Physics Building — A bright blue backpack
containing two chemistry textbooks, a Texas Instruments 60X
calculator and a Sony AM/FM cassette walkman, was stolen
from a second floor room.
Burglary of HabitatioiyBuilding
•Keist Hall — A third floor room was entered and 25 shirts
and 15 pairs of pants were stolen.
•Keist Hall — The victim advised that the clothing he report
ed stolen from his room had been returned. The clothing was
Harassment
• Keathley Hall — The victim was the recipient of several of
fensive and obscene telephone calls from an intoxicated indi
vidual.
Truancy
•Hensel Park — Two school age children were observed in
Hensel Park during normal school hours. The two juveniles
claimed to be expelled from school. Investigation revealed
one of the ladies was supposed to be in school and the other
had withdrawn due to excessive absences. The juveniles
were transported to the high school and one was released to
the associate principal and the other to an adult responsible
for her care.
Criminal Mischief
•G. Rollie White Coliseum — A paper towel rack and a water
valve were damaged in the first floor men's locker room. In
addition to this activity, three individuals had their lockers
forcibly entered and several items of athletic wear stolen.
•G. Rollie White Coliseum — Someone apparently was
locked inside a storage room used for women's basketball.
The subject damaged the door by beating the hinges with sev
eral trophies that were inside the room in a failed attempt to
get out of the room. The person was able to escape the stor
age facility by kicking a hole in the sheetrock wall and exiting
through the women's basketball film room.
•University Owned Apartments — Assorted papers were re
moved from the console and placed on the passenger seat.
Nothing was removed from the vehicle.
•Ball Street — Someone entered the victim's vehicle remov
ing items from the center console and placing them on the
passenger seat.
•UV Row — Someone entered the victim's vehicle and scat
tered items on the front seat afler removing them from the
glove box and door pockets.
Terroristic Threat
•Dunn Hall — The victim received a phone call from an ac
quaintance who threatened to shoot him at work.
Forgery
•The Pavilion — Someone forged a loan application to fraud
ulently receive funds from the Student Financial Aid office.
