Powell said about 1,100 stu
dents will graduate during each of
the three graduation ceremonies
which means up to 6,600 guests
will attend each ceremony.
The University has implement
ed ticket distribution in an effort
to eliminate the traditionally large
overflow problem in G. Rollie
Jeff Erler, student senator and
May graduate, said he commends
the University for trying to find a
quick solution to accommodate
the guests, but he also said stu
dents should be able to invite as
ly or as few people as they
Id
man
would like.
"Realizing the constraints that
exist, I think the University has
found the best solution for this
year," Erler said. "It would be in
the best interest of this university
to find a long term solution."

son she still wants to stay with
her first love, the heptathalon.
"My best events are the hur
dles and the high jump," Madden
said. "But I have a lot of trouble
with the 800.
"Since my best events are on
my first day Tm usually winning
but the second day I struggle to
make it. Usually it comes down
to the 800 so I have to stay close
enough to the leaders so they
don't beat me in overall points."
Madden has already qualified
for nationals.
"There are a certain number of
points you have to make in a com
petition to get an automatic bid to
the nationals," Madden said. "I
didn't quite reach the automatic
mark but I think I got close
enough to the mark where I'll
make it anyway, very few girls
make the automatic mark."
Making the Olympics would be
her biggest dream but she
not have enough time to makeil
happen.
"If I had four more years to
train for them, I think I would
have a good chance at making it,"
Madden said. "But I'm going to
start graduate •school nextyearso
I don't think I'm going to have
enough time to train properly ”
I might join a track club just in
case."
With nationals just around
corner it seems tne best way of
getting rid of Kaleen Madden
would be getting her in trouble
with her parents.
