The most impressive thing
ut Edwards' night against the
ars was his coolness from the
throw line, if not his ability to
rand play simultaneously,
e hit 14 of 17 attempts from
stripe, most of those coming in
final 10 minutes when South
bama's press actually did
re harm than good through the
ease in fouls.
Jn addition to breaking the
lith Alabama press, Barone said
that the failure of two key Jaguars
to play up to their previous games
was important.
Star point man Cedric Yelding
led the game in assists with 12,
but hit only two of seven from the
field for five points. And top re
serve Charlie Burke was a non
factor, also finishing with five
points and just one rebound.
"We needed to keep Yelding
and Burke out of the game, and
we did that," Barone said.
As the Aggies ponder their
most important win in the past
two season, Barone said that the
confidence the game produced
will probably be the overriding
theme. But the main theme for
Barone himself is an almost giddy
sense of joy, a feeling that is
much-deserved.
"I don't think that we backed
into that win," Barone said. "I
thought that we took it. I thought
tonight we learned how to win.
"I don't know why I'm so excit
ed. I really don't."
Barone and the Aggies will
have an entire week to come back
to earth. Their next contest will be
Dec. 17, when they face North
western University in Evanston,
Ill.

Is this the same Texas A&M
tball team that this newspaper
scribed as "pathetic" in Octo-
T?
Prediction: The Dallas Maver-
:ks will not win as many games
the Aggie football team did.
One saving grace about this
ear's battle in Dallas is that for
over Soiil ie "two percenters" who decide
watch the game on television,
IBC will provide coverage. This
leans no inept Terry Bradshaw,
nd no sideline reporters mistak-
nly referring to the men in ma-
oon as Texas Tech.

Year's Day."
The broadcast team of Brent
Musburger and Dick Vermeil
must surely be a match made in
hell.
It won't matter who the AFC
champion is, Dallas will win the
Super Bowl if it wins the NFC
championship game, which after
all is the real title game.
The Aggie basketball team,
despite its brutal schedule, will
come surprisingly close to .500
this year if it doesn't reach that
goal. No joke.
Mike Ditka - You despise him
or you worship him. There is no
middle ground.
The Lady Aggie volleyball
team, a group that doesn t get
near the respect it deserves,
played some of the toughest
teams around and finished with
a record of 19-17. They received
a postseason bid as a result.

Athletic directors should get
together and decide what they
want from college football head
coaches: clean, well-run pro
grams or winning seasons. To
want both is to want perfection.
Woody Allen is getting a bad
rap.
Bad news for the Longhorns:
The team that has lost eight out
of the last nine games to A&M
will lose 12 starters after this sea
son while the Aggies will lose
four starters. Darn.
The only way to spend New
Year's Eve is eating at Old
Spaghetti Warehouse in the West
End in Dallas and screaming
your head off with a couple of
thousand friends at Midnight
Yell.
And finally. I'm sick of objec
tivity. Beat the hell outta Notre
Dame.

It is with extreme pleasure and gratitude that I thank each member of the Texas
A&M Chapter of Circle K International for their commitment to the success of this
club. Without the dedication that these students have collectively and individually
shown in their concern for the betterment of mankind, while at the same time
realizing their own potential, we would not have become the largest, most effective
Circle K International chapter of the Great Texas - Oklahoma District. By
exemplifying the ideals of Circle K International -- SERVICE - LEADERSHIP -
FELLOWSHIP -- these people have shown that the Impact of the Individual does
make a difference...one member at a time.
If you know any of these people, congratulate them on a job well done!
Sharing One Vision: Towards the Betterment of Mankind,
