The festival, sponsored by the Messina Hof Winery and KAMU- TV/FM, will begin Friday evening with a wine and food tasting at the University Tower hotel. Nine wineries from across Texas and four Italian wine dis tributors will each bring several wines, and ten local restaurants will present a variety of foods to be sampled. Elaine Hoyak, assistant devel opment director for KAMU-TV, said, "ItTl be a great time for everyone, even if you're not a wine connoisseur." Messina Hof will conduct free tours of their vineyard on Satur day morning, featuring live music and food sold at booths. Other events around town will include food and wine seminars and an evening dinner. The winery will hold a five- kilometer "Fund Run/Walk" on Sunday. A mass will be read and the jazz ensemble Big Apple Trio will play at a brunch. The festival is a fundraiser for KAMU-FM, Hoyak said. "We had a good turnout last year, and we've added some excit ing events," she said. "This year, we hope to have everyone come out and have fun." Hoyak said tickets for Friday's wine and food tasting will be available at the door and those wishing to attend the brunch on Sunday should make reservations. "Messina Hof wanted to have this with a non-profit organiza tion that could benefit," she said "They are helping us and and making people aware of their unique winery." *1 a- OL 9L cC 7 O' 6(A u Meet the Lady Aggies Sunday, November 15,1992 4:00 p.m. G.
