Judge to rule on prayer case
DALLAS (AP) — A judge said
he will rule by late September on
a lawsuit seeking an injunction
against prayers at Duncanville
school activities.
Testimony ended Wednesday
on a preliminary injunction re
quested by the American Civil
Liberties Union before U.S. Dis
trict Judge Robert Maloney.
The lawsuit is directed to
ward prayers by members of the
girls basketball teams, but the
ACLU also wants an end to
prayers at any other school func
tions.
School officials stopped
prayers during the school day
several months ago.
