The Student Body President re quires vision and experience to lead such diversity. My vi sion involves improvement in three areas: I. Business Services A. Work with Vice President for Finance and Administration on a Student Advisory Committee. B. Allow students to use a private caterer for ac tivities in MSC and Rudder. II. Basic Campus Facilities A. Campus Safety - More emergency phones, better lighting. B. Green Space - Reclaim MSC grass, ensure campus aesthetics. C. Library Resources - Advocate more state funding. III. Quality of Education A. Attract leading faculty and retain those here by increasing money allocated to faculty salaries. B. Better utilize student evaluations. C. More effective balance between research and teaching. Experience: My bills in the Student Senate created the Interna tional Affairs Committee and extended the voting period. Moreover, I worked with the Parking Oversight Commit tee in implementing campus thirty-minute parking spaces. For vision and experience, please vote Charles Phipps. Gig’em0 Howdy! Some of the issues that I plan to address are: the basic traditions at Texas A&M - integrity of character and genu ine concern for fellow Aggies, academic advising - increase the quality and availability of advisers and their skills in re lating to students from all cultures, student representation - pursue student representation on the Board of Regents and improve student representation in the Student Senate and through the legislature, campus unity -create more in teraction among campus groups to reach common goals, campus security - maintain effective lighting and increase the awareness of escort and transportation services. I am a junior animal science major from Conroe, and I am run ning for Senior Yell Leader. My dad is the Class of ’58, and my older brother the Class of ’87. Coming from a family rich in Ag gie spirit and tradition, I feel that I possess the qualities and desire to be a good representative of Texas A&M University and the Fightin’ Texas Aggie 12th Man. I realize that being a Sr. Yell Leader re quires a lot of hard work and ded ication, and I am prepared to meet these requirements and responsi bilities. I have become actively in volved in the Corps of Cadets, Company L-l, First Brigade Staff, Parson’s Mounted Cavalry, Class Council, Aggie Bonfire Commit tee, and Fish Camp.
