Don Engelage, director of fi nancial aid at A&M, said the seminars will cover how aid is ad ministered, how a student’s finan cial need is determined and what ongoing requirements the stu dent must meet. He said the satis factory academic progress policy and the purpose of letters from academic advisers also will be ad dressed. The goal of the seminars is to relay information to faculty and staff, so they can relay it to stu dents in need, Engelage said. Space is limited to 25 seats, so only facultv and staff are invited. He said the aid department has hosted these seminars the past three years. They have been re ceived well and space fills up fast, he said. The department cannot open these seminars to students be cause the limited space will not permit it, he said. But the coun selors in the department speak to dorm residents, other organiza tions on campus and churches, Engelage said. Financial prob lems are the last things students need to worry about, he said. Making the faculty and staff knowledgeable about the depart ment and what it offers will help with helping students, Engelage said.
