No. 8 Aggies start off six-day road trip in Louisiana

The No. 8 Texas A&M baseball
team will open a six-game road trip
Friday when the it faces Louisiana
Tech. The Aggies will play three
games agaipst Tech and three
against Northeast Louisiana.

pitching staff has compiled a
team ERA.

Friday. For Saturday’s twinbill, the
Aggies will send Pat Sweet (2-0, 1.35
ERA.) and Rich Robertson (2-0, 0.64
ERA) to the mound.
“It’s going to be an interesting ex
perience,” Freudenberg said. "This
team has the opportunity to grow a
lot if we do well in Lousiana.
“We did well there two years ago,
but not as well as 1 feel this team can
do. We’re looking forward to it. We
want to bring home some wins."
A&M netters sweep

The Texas A&M men’s tennis
team downed Southwest Texas
State, 7-2, sweeping the Bobcats in
all three doubles matches, Thursday
at Omar Smith Tennis Center.
The win moved A&M’s duel
match record to 4-1. SWT dropped
down to 3-2 on the season.
Senior Shaun O’Donovan, a na
tive of South Africa, continued
wreaking havoc on the court, blow
ing by SWT’s Paul Domanski in
straight sets (6-2, 6-2) in the No. 1
singles. The win pushes O’Dono-
van’s record to 5-0 this spring, 12-6
overall.
A&M tennis coach David Kent
said although the Aggies played well
today, they would nave to be pre
pared for some difficult matches
tommorrow.
The Aggies host No. 25 Trinity.
Match play begins at 1:30.
