About 150 competitors from across the nation attended this tournament including members of the National Judo Institute of Colo rado Springs and members of the San Jose State Team, the colle giate national champions. Representing the Aggies were Bob Perez in the 143 lbs di vision. Darryl Coleman and Kevin Brewer in the 156 lbs class, David Baker and David Schmidt in the 189 lbs division, John Hughes in the 209 lbs division and finally Mike Baker in the 209 lbs and over division. The only Aggies to advance out of the preliminary rounds were David Schmidt and David Baker. Both were elimi nated in the next round.
