Documentary shown this weekend
Guitarist performs on campus
Flamenco guitarist Miguel Rodriguez will per
form tomorrow night at 7:45 in the Music Depart
ment on the 4th floor of the Academic Building.
Rodriguez began his public career at age 10. In re
cent years he has toured the United States, Canada
and Europe, providing music for several noted com
panies, including the Jose
Molina Ballet Espanol, the
Jose Greco Spanish Dance Co. and the Maria Benitez
Estampa Flamenca.
The travelogue “Song of Ireland” will kick off the
“Bringing the world to Bryan-College Station Series”
at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the College Station Commu
nity Center.
Buddy Hatton, the film’s creator, will be on hand
to narrate the documentary. Hatton, who is consid
ered by some to be one of the most popular travelo
gue narrators in the nation, is also remembered for
his role as “Little Buddy” in the “Our Gang” series.
The series is sponsored by The Arts Exchange, a
non-profit service organization in Austin.
Travelogues are feature-length documentary
films which focus on individual nations, capturing
the culture, citizens and customs of a country.
Other films in the series which will be shown this
semester are “Spain,” by Thayer Soule, on Oct. 29
and Frank Nichols’ “Austrian Odyssey” on Nov. 19.
Single tickets for each program are $5 for seniors
and students and $6 for the general public. Series
tickets for all six travelogues, including three next
semester, are available for $24 for seniors and stu
dents and $30 for the general public.

Council at 764-3720.
