EL PASO (AP) — Raul Estrada no
longer wears the Mexican scrape
that symbolized the Chicano
Movement back in 1971.
But his goals are unchanged: lie s
still demanding justice lor Hispan-

her goals transcending equality for a
single ethnic group. “Now, I’m con

other as humans,” she said. “God ac
cepts us, but do we accept our
selves?”

our smiety that 1 would like to see,
and tor which 1 {ought.

long way to go. We haven’t rent tied
the levels ol sophistication I ex
pected. But, that’s coming. 1 can feel
it. As long as we don’t give up the
fight, and as long as we continue to
make demands for change, some
thing will give.
“Eventually, we will get what we
desire, which is equality and the end
ot discrimination against Chicanos.
We could also use a lot less govern-
