Map Discussion: The short wave trough of low pressure aloft in theMidwes
lift rapidly northeast as a closed upper-level low forms in the Upper Mississjc
Valley. The combination of strong upper dynamics and good low-level
convergence should produce showers and thundershowers along andaliea:
the surface front as it treks eastward.
Wrap around moisture from the Great Lakes low will cause snow in the
western and central Great Lakes. (The circulation around a low is counter
clockwise.)
The West remains relatively dry with the exception of the Pacific Norte
where an onshore flow and a cold front will combine to produce precipitatior
Forecast:
Today. Cloudy early with gradually decreasing cloudiness through the afti

at 8 to 15 mph. Expect a few showers or an isolated thundershower early an
cold front moves through the Brazos Valley.
Tonight. Partly cloudy and cool with a low temperature of 49 degrees, I
northerly winds and no precipitation.
Saturday. Fair and mild with a high of 73 degrees and east-northwest windsa

Biff Jennings spent last summer surfing double overhead Puerto
Escondido, catching two hundred and fifty pound Marlin off Cabo,
diving for lobsters as big as German Shepherds at Manzanillo, and
raging in cantinas until dawn.
He’s back home in Texas now, and he continues to drink the beer that

Police look for inmate
who escaped from jail
by switching identities
DALLAS (AP) — An 18-year-old
Jamaican native accused in two slay
ings swapped an identification
bracelet with another inmate in Dal
las County’s maximum security jail
and walked free Wednesday, offi
cials said.
Authorities continued searching
for the escaped convict, Derrick
Greene, alias Jonatton Crow, after
he convinced Dallas city jailers that
he was 17-year-old James Arthur
Davis, another inmate who was
going to be released on bond on the
same day.
“By some agreement between
Greene and Davis, Davis consented
to swap his plastic ID bracelet with
Greene,” said Jim Ewell, spokesman
for the Dallas County Sheriffs De
partment.
Greene responded to the call
when guards called for Davis to be
released about 3 a.m. Ewell said that
Greene showed the bracelet with Da
vis’ name and correctly responded to
several questions from the prison
guards, which included Davis’ date
of birth and his personal jail num
ber.
Greene was transferred to the
Mexico City Lew Sterrett Justice Center, where
an identification officer took a print
of his right index finger and some
how positively matched the wrong
ful print with those of Davis.
“The ID officer said it
