    Changing Roles in Society
Women in the work force
T here
is an order in the world.
Men are the protectors
and providers. They work
for a living, making money
so their wives and children
won’t have a financial
worry. Women are the
protected and provided for.
They bring up the children,
clean the house and cater to
their husbands.
Hmmm. Maybe this was
true in “Little House On The
Prarie” or “Leave It To
Beaver”, but it isn’t any
by Staci Finch
longer. Women are
throwing away their aprons
and stepping out into the
work force.
This transition hasn’t
been an easy one, for men
or women. Job
discrimination, low wages
and job availability are
problems women have had
to face. And it is sometimes
not clear whether these
problems are being solved.
But one thing is clear.
Women have come a long
way.
