principal encounters include teachers who do not want to teach and students who want to run the school. Latimer starts cracking down on the drug traffic and violence in school and does his best to see that each student gets an education, whether they like it or not. This action upsets several of the teachers and, of course, Duncan, who thinks he owns the school. The subsequent scenes center on the battle between Latimer and Duncan for control of Brandel. The performances given by Belushi as Latimer and Louis Gossett Jr. as Phillips are superb. They both give tough but realistic portrayals of their characters. Rae Dawn Chong also does a fine job as Hilary Orozco, a history teacher at Brandel. Latimer’s character is the most endearing in the movie. The new principal is not fault free, as evidenced by his recent divorce and subsequent attack on his fomer wife’s date. He does, however, have a devotion to his new job and does everything in his power to turn Brandel into a learning institution. The script is intelligently written, the characters are believable and the story is interesting and involving. This movie should easily prove to be one of the better films of the fall. -Review by Thomas Reinarts Notes-n-Quotes ;0* Copy Services Resumes-Flyers (Bulk Discount) Copte* 3$ (limit 100) ■ 10% off any Study Guide Color 50 Notes-n 112 Nagle 846-2255 otes-n- m m mmm umiHliMB Department of Speech Communication & Theatre Arts Texas A&M University Present Triple-A Plowed Under by Federal Theatre Project’s Living Newspaper Staff An exciting recreation of the Living Newspaper!
