minute, not having to worry
about cooking or utility
payments (since no cooking is
allowed in the dorm rooms and
utilities are included in the rent)
and living in close contact with
hundreds of other students are
among the advantages of on-
campus living.
However, dorm rooms offer
very little privacy, space or
individuality. Although some
students appreciate not having
to hassle with dirty dishes,
others would prefer the
opportunity to cook. Noise can
also be a problem in dorm
rooms with thin walls, and
unreasonable roommates can
turn you away from your home
away from home.
Off-campus housing solves
many of these problems by
providing more space. Just
having that one extra room can
relieve the mundaneness of a
one-room home.
