nent when the teams played on Nov.
8, 1915. Rice won that one 7-0, but
the Aggies hold the overall lead with
40 w ins, 27 losses and three ties.
A few highlights from past Rice-
A&M contests:
• 1985 — A&M defensive back
Domingo Bryant intercepts three
passes, one for a touchdown, in 43-
28 A&M win.
• 1983 — Freshman quarterback
Kevin Murray completes 25 passes (a
career high tied last week vs. Baylor)
to lead A&M to 29-10 w in.
• 1982 — Senior quarterback
Gary Kubiak tosses five touchdown
passes as Aggies romp 49-7.
• 1981 — Kubiak sets SWC re
cord with six touchdown passes.
A&M’s 51-26 victory, was the most
points the Aggies scored under

• 1980 — Rice wins 10-6, its only
victory against A&M in the 1980s so
far.
• 1978 — Sophomore quar
terback Mike Mosely throws a touch
down pass to Gerald Carter on the
first offensive play with Wilson as
head coach. A&M wins 38-21.
• 1976 — Sophomore place-
kicker Tony Franklin sets SWC re
cord with five field goals in 57-34
win. A&M gains 622 yards in total
offense — its first time over 600
yards.

• 1973 — Aggies down 17-0
(sound familiar?), but come back in
second half to take 20-17 lead. How
ever, Rite's Carl Sweric returns en
suing kickoff 95 yards for a touch
down. A&M loses 24-20. A&M has
not allowed a kickoff return for a
touchdown since Sweric's feat.
